Just asked Agent_M/ Agent_Taco to relay this message, but realized I could relay it myself through a comment. This article gave me chills throughout several points. Just imagining what that moment may have been like to see her perform and then to experience that very appropriate demand. Rudeness should be nipped in any setting and I think performers have every right to insist that people behave appropriately. I recently attended a small venue concert where the headlining act called out a gentleman who was drunk and obnoxious and ruining the evening for anyone who came to hear, “HEAR” his music. He could hear every word this man uttered and it was not only distracting to him as a performer but annoying to all around.He was direct and polite in his request and ended up reaching down to shake his hand as a gentleman making the request for respect. My kudos go out to any artist who confidently insists that common decency and manners are required in order to be in attendance. It’s for the greater good. I am so looking forward to reading more of your music blogs.

When I heard you tell me the Patti LuPone story, I thought, “I would have paid Broadway ticket prices just to see that.” Not because I like crazy spectacle but because it would have been awesome to get a lesson in manners — even if I weren’t the offending party — from Ms. LuPone. However, given that she’s a legend in the Broadway circle, I think she really could have found a way to channel her frustration and anger as she was experiencing it in order to give a really powerful, and ultimately uninterrupted, performance!

I was a little put off by the fact she nearly stormed off the stage, but she really was pretty amazing.
